Headed to the Broken River Mountains tomorrow to do some hiking and back-country riding. They received over a meter of snow last night so the conditions should be phenomenal. This place is just a few hours drive from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.

We have rented a car and will be camping out for the entire weekend. Droo and I will be travelling with his friend Tim who is in the midst of a “Lonely Planet” expedition including Australia and New Zealand. This is the final leg of his journey before he heads back to grad school at Harvard so he is ecstatic about this trip. See you all in a few days!
